2018 2ND MEETİNG OF CEMENT SECTOR MEETİNG WAS HELD

This year's second meeting of the "Cement Sector Meeting", which brings together the representatives of the cement sector and is held regularly every year, was held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Istanbul TIM Foreign Trade Complex. The meeting was held with the participation of Feyyaz ÜNAL, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ahmet SUYADAL and Aydın KAYA, the Members of the Board of Directors, and 40 people consisting of the Ministry of Commerce, the Competition Authority, the Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association and sector representatives.

In the opening speech and presentation made by Feyyaz ÜNAL, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association, the comparative statistics of Turkey's 2018 January-September cement sector exports with 2017 were shared. In addition, the current situation of the world cement market and our country's cement exports were evaluated. Then, within the framework of the presentation titled “Developments and Expectations in the Economy, Construction Sector and Cement Industry” made by the economic consultant of our Association, Can Fuat GÜRLESEL, important information about the sector was shared with the participants.

The representative of the Ministry of Commerce was also informed about the latest status of the Israeli anti-dumping investigation. At the end of the meeting, with the interactive participation of the sector representatives, the current problems of the sector and solution proposals were consulted.

The meetings, which are considered to be productive for our industry, will continue in the coming periods.
