3rd EXPORT CHAMPIONS AWARD CEREMONY ORGANIZED
3rd Champions of Export Award Ceremony by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association Deputy Minister of Trade R. Tuna Turagay, Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) President İsmail Gülle, Chairman of the Board of our Association Erdem Çenesiz, Members of the Board of Directors, public institutions and the sector was held at Istanbul Hilton Maslak Hotel on November 25, 2021 with the participation of representatives and members of the press.
As a result of the rankings made according to 2020 export data, our member companies operating in the cement, glass and ceramic sectors were awarded 71 awards in 11 sub-sectors. The awards were presented by Deputy Minister of Trade R. Tuna Turagay, TİM President İsmail Gülle, Union Board Chairman Erdem Çenesiz and Vice Presidents.
TİM President İsmail Gülle, in his opening speech, said that 2020 is a year that shows the stability and resilience of Turkish exports, and congratulated our exporters by stating that our exporters made history in 2020 and that the value of the performance will be remembered even decades later.
In his speech, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Erdem Çenesiz, emphasized that 4 billion dollars of exports was reached with 8% growth in 2020 and that the target was expanded this year, and said, “The success we achieved in the first year of the pandemic paved the way for us to set bigger targets. As of the first 10 months of this year, we have reached 4 billion dollars in exports. We aim to reach 5 billion dollars by adding growth to our growth in the last two months.” Emphasizing that the domestic added value produced by our cement, glass and ceramics industries has risen to three times the average of Turkey, Erdem Çenesiz stated that by the end of the year, it is predicted that our industries will create a domestic added value of 3.3 billion dollars and thus the net foreign currency we have provided to our country in the last 10 years will approach 25 billion dollars.
After the opening speeches, awards were given in the categories of "Companies with the Highest Exporting Units", "Companies with the Highest Export Units" and "Companies with the Highest Export Units" in a total of 11 sub-sectors in the cement, glass and ceramic sectors, and the event ended with a gala dinner.
