Ceramic, Cement, Glass Industries 2019 Export Champions Announced
The second of the Export Champions Award Ceremony, the first of which was held last year by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association (ÇCSİB), was held online this year. Industry representatives and exporter company executives at the ceremony, hosted by Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association President Erdem Cenesiz, with the participation of Ruhsar Pekcan, TR Minister of Commerce, and İsmail Gülle, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, and awarding the 40 companies with the highest exports in 2019 has joined.
Erdem Çenesiz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered the opening speech at the ceremony attended by more than 300 spectators. Then, in the speech made by TİM President İsmail Gülle, the importance of the 4% growth in the first 9 months of 2020 for the country's economy was emphasized despite the achievements of the Association in 2019 and the difficult pandemic conditions.
Ruhsar Pekcan, the Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey, who attended the Award Ceremony online, stated that cement, glass, ceramics and soil products have had an important share in the production and export structure since the past. Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said, “These sectors are a source of pride for our country due to the stability and continuity they have achieved in exports. This year's numbers also made us proud. We believe that thanks to the valuable and innovative works of our valuable exporters, they will carry the international success of our sectors even further” and expressed his belief that our companies will export more.
ÇCSİB Vice Presidents Feyyaz Ünal and Tansu Kumru also gave speeches representing the cement and glass industries. After the speeches, the companies that received the awards were announced. In the ceramic, cement and glass sectors of the ÇCSİB member companies, the top 5 companies with the highest export ($) in 2019 in 8 sub-categories were announced, and each company representative was connected online and their awards were presented live, and they were thanked for their outstanding success.
