SECOND CEMENT SECTOR MEETING OF 2020 HELD

The second of the Cement Industry Meetings, organized by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association, was held online on October 20, 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Approximately 60 representatives from our member companies attended the meeting, in which the officials of the Ministry of Commerce were also present. In addition, the leading non-governmental organizations of the sector, TÇMB and ÇEİS, also attended the meeting.

Cement Industry Meeting started with the opening and evaluation speech of Feyyaz Ünal, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of our Association, and a presentation was made by Mr. Ünal that analyzed the cement industry in the world and in Turkey. Ministry of Commerce officials gave information about the Ukraine anti-dumping investigation. The meeting was attended by our Union's economic advisor, Dr. It continued with the presentation of Can Fuat Gürlesel's "Developments in the Economy and Construction Sector and Expectations for 2021". Then, Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty Member Dr. Pınar Artran delivered a speech on “Sustainability in International Trade, EU Green Deal and Its Effects on Our Exports: Challenges and Opportunities”.
