THE WORLD CEMENT INDUSTRY MET İN ISTANBUL FOR THE 100TH MEETİNG OF INTERCEM CONFERENCES
The 100th Meeting of INTERCEM Conferences, which has been held in different cities since 1985 and is one of the most important international events for the World Cement Industry, was held at Istanbul Hilton Bomonti Hotel on 24-26 June 2019. The INTERCEM Conference, organized by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association in cooperation with the Cement Industry Employers' Association (ÇEİS) and the Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association (TÇMB), brought together cement manufacturers, sellers, transporters, equipment and service providers, consultants and service providers from 42 countries. brought together nearly 400 industry representatives, including analysts, international delegates and senior executives.
The opening speeches of the conference, which lasted two days, were made by Deputy Minister of Trade Tuna Turagay, TİM Chairman of the Board İsmail Gülle, TÇMB Chairman of the Board Nihat Özdemir, and ÇEİS Chairman of the Board Suat Çalbıyık. Feyyaz Ünal, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association, shared the future vision of the industry with the participants in a presentation he made at the conference. World-renowned Turkish architect Murat Tabanlıoğlu also attended the conference and made a presentation on urbanization.
Meetings were held with many high-level participants, industry representatives and conference partners at the stand of our Association. Participants who visited our stand were informed about the Turkish cement industry and our companies, and promotional materials were distributed. In the Gala Dinner organized by our Association at the Shangri-La Hotel on the evening of June 25, sector representatives came together and Murat Kaynak Orchestra accompanied the event.
Our Association, which closely follows and actively participates in the International Intercem Cement Conferences in line with its goal of increasing our cement exports, contributed to the promotion of both our industry and our country in the international arena by hosting the aforementioned 100th meeting. INTERCEM 100 Istanbul Conference is a very important opportunity in terms of accurately conveying Turkey's international relations, emphasizing the fact that our country is a reliable trade partner to foreign businessmen, and promoting our country and the cement industry at an international level; It has been the meeting point where business relations and commercial agreements are established.
