WORLD CEMENT INDUSTRY MEETS IN ISTANBUL FOR THE 100TH INTERCEM CONFERENCE

The biggest players of the cement industry on a global scale are coming together in Istanbul as part of the INTERCEM Conference, which is organized for the 100th time around the world. With the cooperation of Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association, Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association (TÇMB) and Cement Industry Employers' Association (ÇEİS), 400 sectors from 5 continents, 34 countries and 52 cities participated in the conference to be held at Istanbul Hilton Bomonti Hotel on 24-26 June. representative will attend.

In this context, a press conference was held in Istanbul on June 11, 2019 by Feyyaz ÜNAL, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters' Association, and Tamer SAKA, Vice President of TÇMB and ÇEİS. Feyyaz Ünal emphasized at the press conference that the total exports of the Turkish cement industry increased by 60 percent in the first 5 months of the year to 383 million dollars. Feyyaz Ünal, stating that they aim to increase exports by 30 percent at the end of the year compared to 2018, stated that their aim is to increase the market share of our country in this field, while international competition increases, in 2019, when global cement consumption is expected to increase by 3 percent. The Turkish cement industry continues to add economic value to Turkey with 55 integrated factories, 19 thousand industry employees and exports to 115 countries throughout the country, and today it has become Europe's largest, the world's fourth largest producer and third largest exporter.

Tamer Saka, Deputy Chairman of ÇEİS and TÇMB Board of Directors, mentioned to the members of the press that the cement industry is a great ecosystem that creates value for our country by touching on issues such as production technologies, logistics, waste recycling, education, and human resources management.

The latest production techniques in the cement industry, the effects of the construction industry on the cement industry and new business opportunities in the export markets, as well as the environment and human resources, at the INTERCEM 100 Conference, which will be held at Istanbul Hilton Bomonti Hotel between 24-26 June and where 400 industry representatives from 34 countries are expected to attend. friendly production, waste recycling, human resource management in the cement sector and new business opportunities will be discussed.
